YFC MEC 2 fever is on!
wassup peeps?! Maybe you've heard some news about the upcoming MEC 2... hmmm... this year's theme will be BUILD! from Isaiah 58:12...and since we are BUILDing up YFC, we have more exciting things coming up for the conference! 1... first time ever conference with outdoor activities! YFC MEC will be in Gulf Air Club, Bahrain... not inside the hotel anymore! wahoooey! 2... we have more competitions.. with more competing countries... more fun.. more challenges!

4... more countries... more nationalities! we now have not just Filipinos and Indians... we will have Lebanese youth, Syrian youth, Nepali youth, a Dominican Republic member...wassup YSA?! and much much more! prepare for a multi-lingual conference ahead!

3YO ON THE MOVE!
Bonjour! Marhaba! Namaste!
Three different greetings... three Languages... three new countries... for Three Years OASIS!
Last July 2 and 3 the 1st Lebanon YFC Youth Camp was held in Beit El-Kahein Retreat Center, Lebanon. We had 12 new YFC's: 8 Pure Lebanese, 2 Half Lebanese and Half Filipino, and 2 pure Filipino. since it is an open country, we had a chance to do the bonfire fellowship during the cold evening! way to go YFC Middle East 6th Country!
July 7 and 8 marked the 7th country when YFC in Syria was established! we now have 3 Syrians, 18 Sudanese, 1 Tongan and 1 Kenyan YFC! the camp was held in St. Anthony de Padua Parish in downtown Damascus.
The mission was reinforced by two young but enthusiastic YFC s from Lebanon Noel Padalhin and Paula Iriola, and they even came with their families who also served in the CFC activities. Tito Jover, the CFC Country Coordinator of Syria was also there.
A team of eight composed of Fr. Thomas Quadros, Bahrain parish priest; Tito Richie D' Mello, CFC nepal Country Coordinator; Tito TI Lucila, YFC Coordinator Bahrain; Tita Lani Lisboa, KFC Coordinator Bahrain; Joey Nocom and Johanna Dasigan, YFC Leaders of Bahrain and Kuya Bernz and Ate Chinky went to Nepal for a 5 day mission trip.
The weekend was packed with three camps: the youth camp had 23 new YFCs with 21 pure Nepalis and 2 half Nepali-half Filipino; Senior and Junior Kid's Camps. The surroundings was so different from the Middle East since it is surrounded by lush greenery and mountains.
The whole three-country experience was amazing! this proved that God is really there to push us and accomplish the task that He had set before all of us. He will be there to touch and move others to bring the good news to the Ends of the Earth!

BELIEVE Conference!
Yeah yeah yeah! 190 delegates from across the Middle East attended the 1st YFC Middle East Conference 2004 with the theme "BELIEVE". it was held at the Renaissance Hotel Dubai last November 18 and 19.
The restrictions because of the depose of the UAE president Sheikh Zayed did not hinder the conference to be as exciting as it must be! The band, dance and rap competitions were held during the entertainment night while the banner, exhibit, gag and MTV competitions were held in the conference venue.
The sessions were truly inspiring! Tinay Mamaril of YFC UAE gave the first talk entitled BELIEVE was about the vision of YFC and the great things that could happen if we believe in it. Sam Peralta and Bham Garcia gave very inspiring sharings.
The second session entitled DRY LAND was given by Joey Nocom of Bahrain. He talked about the traps that the youth often fall into, the sin trap, doubt trap, unworthiness trap and selfishness trap. Bong Villareal, Ivan Sylvestre and Nikky Sembrano shared on their own struggles and realizations in these traps. Everybody was touched during the healing session where in they recognized their sins and have it washed and cleansed before God.
The third session was given by Bernz Arce and is entitled OASIS. Kib Mamaril, Mabel Oreta, Macrol Antonio and Paige shared their convictions about their faith. The session marked the marching order "Three Years Oasis!" which is the vision of YFC Middle East.
The winners for the competitions were: Exhibit - 1st KSA, 2nd Qatar, 3rd UAE; Banner - 1st KSA, 2nd Oman, 3rd UAE; JC in the House - 1st Bahrain, 2nd UAE, 3rd KSA; Laughing Out Loud - 1st UAE, 2nd KSA; Woodstruck - 1st KSA, 2nd UAE, 3rd Bahrain; Kinetic Showdown - 1st UAE, 2nd Bahrain, 3rd KSA; MTV - 1st UAE, 2nd UAE, 3rd Bahrain.
Aside from these awards, there were special awards that was given to exemplary delegations. These were: Most Cooperative Delegation - Bahrain; Most Organized Delegation - KSA; Biggest Delegation - UAE; Most Inspiring Delegation - Oman; Most Vibrant Delegation - KSA and Friendliest Delegation - KSA.

KSA Leaders Weekend held
The first YFC Leaders Weekend was held last August 26 and 27 in Bahrain. 21 YFC leaders attended the event. talks on Radical Christianity, their calling as YFCs, Servant Leadership strengthened their faith and conviction to serve the community. At the same time, the YFC Couple Coordinators had their Coordinators Training. together, they discussed the relationships involved as a coordinator and strengthened their conviction to go and continue for the great cause... which is to love!

YFC Love Forum held
Love was in the air! YFC members in Bahrain had their love forum last September 9 at the AV room of the SHC.The love life talk was enhanced by a beautiful venue set-up complete with candles and hanging hearts. It was a very great activity especially when some of the YFCs were asked to share about their love life and their convictions about staying pure and knowing their priorities as of the moment. |
YFC UAE ONE! National Conference 2004 held
YFC UAE we are ONE for JC! ...chanted 150 delegates of the 1st YFC UAE National Conference held last October 8 at the rown Plaza Hotel, Dubai. The whole day conference was so full packed with activities, competitions and a talk, and left a mark in the hearts of all the attendees from Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Sharjah and Dubai.. The YFC's joined the competitions in preparation for the MEC this November, the winners were: Woodstruck Battle of the Bands- DUbai, Kinetic Showdown- Sharjah, Laughing out Loud- Sharjah, JC in the House rap- Dubai and MTV competiton where Sharjah and Dubai tied.
it was a very energetic and spirit-filled conference that marked the start of the three-year vision of YFC UAE that they will be present in all 7 emirates and will have 1000 strong YFC members. At present they are present in 4 emirates, Fujairah was recently opened and with around 300 members for the whole country.

2nd World Great Adventure Tour 2004!
The second World Great Adventure Tour: Only for the Brave, was held last August 5 to 21, 2004 in the Philippines. 21 delegates mostly from the Middle East attended, 14 from UAE, 1 from Bahrain and 1 from KSA. other delegates were from Austria, USA and Australia. It was a great three week experience for the delegates. they went around Manila during the first few days then went to the Philipine provinces. They had the chance to know the history and culture of the Philippines, work in the Gawad Kalinga sites and of course meet lots of YFC brothers and sisters! Check out the ME delegates sharings! YFC Bahrain SHOUT 2004!
YFC Bahrain had their Summer House Training Program (SHOUT) last August 1 to 6, 2004 @ tito Richie D' Mello's residence. 19 YFC Leaders and potential leaders attended the five-day training.

YFC Oman reborn!
The first YFC Oman camp after two years was held last September 23 and 24 in Majan Hotel, Muscat. 31 new members were added and made YFC there tripled within the weekend! it was a camp filled with fun, friendship, freedom and faith, as the participants and existing members listened to the talks, sharings and did other F4-filled activities!
